Notes
In his will, Samuel gave the vicar and churchwardens of East Meon, fifty pounds to be invested by them and the interest to be used for the purchase of coal to be distributed among the poor of East Meon at Christmas. This was known as the East Meon Charity of SH Colverson and it was amalgamated with the Forbes Charity and Oxenbourne Fuel Charity in the 1960s.
